If you have the moodle on a machine and want to upload it to the MacServer, then you can either ftp it into the server root, but do not forget the database and moodledata folder needs to move over in the same format and relationship too, or unzip and recreate the entire Moodle from scratch. I say should as it has been recommended here several times, but I have never tried it, so cannot guarrantee it will work. This should allow you to access any the moodle from any IP. and in my /etc/hosts file I have an entry for each one: vhosts. I have a vhost folder in my Sites folder, and I have a list of folders, such as: recipes.cam database.cam sandbox.cam codeigniter.cam. So Ive set up virtual hosts for my Mac and I do all my development locally on my computer.

Or you might want to use somethng a little more esoteric: The answer might be out there, but I cant find it. $CFG->wwwroot = ' ' //if you are using moodle as your folder name for the Moodle. Open the config.php file in the Moodle root folder on the server for editing. Is the localhost your Macserver as well? Or rather, it the Moodle already located on the Macserver and you cannot get it to run from a remote computer? If it is, then it is easy. That is why I started writing in the Docs, the language was so opaque that I jusr did not get it.
